Named one of Business in Vancouver’s Top 500 most influential leaders in British Columbia in both 2021 and 2022, Dave’s impressive background includes founding, building and selling one of the world’s largest background screening companies, BackCheck, to Sterling Infosystems. The merged company, SterlingBackCheck, was then acquired by a private equity division of Goldman Sachs in 2015.
For the past 7 years Dave served as CEO of CubicFarms, a publicly traded indoor AgTech company that, through its acquisition of HydroGreen, emerged as one of the world leaders in automated indoor farming for both food and livestock feed.
Dave has achieved success by developing industry leading technologies, teams, and brands that attract the best people, talent, and acquisition opportunities, all focused on a great outcome.
In addition to executive leadership, Dave has recently Chaired the board of ModoHR, a leading Canadian HR Technology company, along with several advisory board roles.
A sought-after speaker with 2 TEDx presentations to date, Dave also contributes actively outside of work. He’s served on the board of Directors for the past 4 years at Sonrise Community Church, and as an active member of the boating community, on the board of Semiahmoo Marina.
As the father of an Autistic son, he is a regular supporter of various endeavours to assist the Autistic community. Dave is also lead guitarist, along with his son the drummer, of recording artists KickDrive. The group regularly performs at numerous fundraising and charity events, as well as local festival concerts.
