Meet Rick Valdemarca
Rick Valdemarca is a seasoned consulting leader known for developing innovative strategies, fostering high-impact partnerships, and navigating organizations through complex and often unique business challenges. With over 35 years of consulting experience – including close to 30 years with Ernst & Young (EY) — Rick brings deep expertise in both public and international sectors.
As a former leader for EY in Alberta, Rick was instrumental in building and leading high-performing teams dedicated to delivering value-driven solutions for both government and private sector clients. His leadership was defined by a strong commitment to collaboration, excellence, and tangible outcomes.
Before his time in Canada, Rick spent a decade with EY’s Management Consulting Services Practice working on large-scale, transformational projects funded by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. These international engagements sharpened his global perspective and ability to implement sustainable reforms in diverse and challenging environments.
Rick currently serves on the Leadership Council of Edmonton Global, is an Advisory Board Member of the ASTech Awards (Alberta Science and Technology Leadership Awards), and mentors entrepreneurs through the University of Alberta’s Lab2Market Program.
Rick’s career reflects a passion for impact, a dedication to service, and a proven ability to turn complexity into opportunity.

Rick’s forum group meet 7 times per year. Each member hosts the meeting at their preferred location which are hosted in the Edmonton area.
