Bio
Jim has worked as a senior strategist for 30+ years, on both agency and client side. As partner at Redshift Collective Inc., Jim specializes in brand differentiation, brand architecture, digital readiness and transformation, customer experience planning, innovation workshops and research design. Jim works with senior client teams to set their long-term business, brand and marketing strategy. He is skilled at creating and facilitating interactive planning summits, encouraging client teams to explore business opportunities and new markets for their brands.
Jim has worked with businesses in virtually every sector, including tourism, telecom, healthcare, software, financial, energy, retail, pharmacy, food service, hotel, healthcare and post-secondary. In each case the goal was to take the brand to a higher level of relevance, differentiation and customer engagement. He is a strong advocate and supporter of technology start-ups, having mentored Entrepreneurship & Innovations leaders at UBC. For the past 9 years, Jim has also served as an Adjunct Professor in the Sauder School of Business at UBC, teaching a course on Cultivating Creativity in Business, focusing on the following key subjects: Developing your personal creativity, Inspiring creativity in larger teams, Using creativity as a key business problem-solving tool.
