Meet Catherine Gryba
Catherine Gryba received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Saskatchewan, with a major in Commerce and a minor in English. She worked at the City of Saskatoon for 34 years in a variety of positions, with her last position as the General Manager of Corporate Performance.
After leaving the City in 2017, Catherine started her company, CRG Strategies, Inc. where she provides support to boards in governance practices, facilitates strategic planning, and coaches CEO’s on how to work most effectively with their boards.
Catherine holds her ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and serves on a variety of Boards. She is currently a Director on the Board of Directors for Sandbox Mutual Insurance, where she recently served as Board Chair for 4 years. Catherine is also on the Board of Trustees for the University of Saskatchewan Huskie Athletics, the Board for Golden Opportunities Fund, and The Prosperity Project.
Catherine is the Co-Chair for the Saskatchewan Chapter of the ICD and is the National Academic Director for the course “Chairing Boards.”
Catherine is a speaker on board governance, and she has a highly engaging speech on her shared experiences as a manager, including creating a sense of belonging for teams and how loneliness at work can affect our sense of belonging.

Catherine’s forum group meet 7 times per year. Each member hosts the meeting at their preferred location which are hosted in Saskatoon.

Joe Gill
Partner, McKercher LLP
Joe is a tech lawyer who supports founders by providing market-focused legal advice and scalable legal solutions. His belief is that founders need the right legal infrastructure to attract investment and proactively defuse legal bombs so they can focus on building and scaling their startups. Joe actively seeks out thoughtful founders who understand that the right advice from Day 1 will accelerate their startup towards investment and growth. Joe is also a published tax lawyer, having written extensively on tax matters for organizations such as the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Law Society of Saskatchewan. He has completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course and was formerly a sessional lecturer for a tax-focused class at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law. Joe advises a number of corporations and professionals (accountants, engineers, pharmacists, dentists) on tax matters.
